
After beating Asec Huruma 2-1 inthe Semi-finals of the Koffi Annan peace tournament Starehe Constituency on 25th July at the Huruma sports ground,we qualified for the finals against Huruma Youth the next day.The final match was played under intense pressure from the home team fans.However the Mercy Care players clad in their new pairs of uniforms donated to them by E C Glass High school from America,put up a spirited performance and lead for most part of the game by a solitary goal scored by Isaac Mwathe until our opponents equalised during the injury time taking the match to penalties.
We lost the finals on penalties 4-3.Though we lost inthe finals we left the venue of the match with our heads held after making it to the finals out of the twenty(20)teams that participated.Credit ofcourse goes to our defenders who worked tirelessly and stopped our opponents from scoring from the numerous attacks they launched.Another credit to the goalkeeper for the unbelievable saves he made throughout the match.
